Jonathan Morley

Jonathan is the minister of Sutton Elms Baptist Church. Moving here in September 2016 from Retford where both Jonathan and his wife, Rachel, served on the leadership team of The Well Retford Baptist Church. They have two lovely and lively children, Joseph and Lydia.

Jonathan is an inspiring preacher with a passion for the presence of God and seeing people transformed through an encounter and relationship with Jesus.
Rachel is a gifted worship leader and singer. She is also an all round super mum, wife though she won’t say that 😉

Originally from Manchester, Jonathan, the youngest of three children, was raised in a Christian home.  His dad is an Assemblies of God minister and both of his parents are fully involved in Church leadership. Giving his life to Jesus at the age of 5, Jonathan began to walk and explore the Christian life. There were times of turning away from God, but God is faithful.

2005 was a great turning point in Jonathan’s life when he felt the LORD call him to quit his job as a chef and apply for the School of Ministry at the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship (now Catch the Fire Toronto).  It was there that Jonathan was deeply impacted by the love of Father God and began a journey that still continues to this day.  After the 5 month school, Jonathan became an intern to John and Carol Arnot.

Moving back to the UK in 2008, Jonathan began to be involved in the Upper Room Christian Fellowship in Middleton, Manchester helping out with the youth and preaching at Sunday services and bible studies.

After meeting Rachel in December 2009, they were married the following year (ask him about arranged marriages 😉 ). With only 6 weeks to be married, they felt God calling them to Retford to be part of The Well Retford Baptist Church.

Jonathan and Rachel are excited to be part of the church at Sutton Elms and look forward, expectantly to all that God will do.
Now the God journey continues…
