I was born and brought up in the West Midlands, in a Black Country town near Wolverhampton. During that time I made a public profession of faith when I was confirmed at the age of 12 in the Church of England. Eventually I came to Leicester as a student and stayed on to work here. My family and I moved to Broughton Astley and we joined Sutton Elms church in 1983 when Bruce Stokes was minister. I first became a deacon in 1997 when George Bradley was minister. At the moment I look after the church profile and the work associated with a family worker. I am married to Jenny. My two children grew up in the village and now I have two grandchildren who are doing the same. Jenny and I enjoy holidays away in our caravan.
